Dr Andreas Charalambous graduated from the University of Heidelberg of Germany, from which he acquired his doctorate title in economics.
He served for a long period as a director in the Ministry of Finance.
He has also served in a number of boards, including as a Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and as member of the negotiation team on the economic aspects of the Cyprus problem. He has also represented Cyprus in the Eurogroup Working Group of the European Council.
Andreas Charalambous has retired from civil service on July 31 2019. Currently he is enjoying retirement while remaining actively engaged as an economist.
