George Isaia is a policy and governance specialist with expertise in institutional development, participatory democracy, public affairs, and the rule of law. He is the Founder of PolicyLab, a consultancy that supports public institutions, civil society organisations, and private sector actors in designing, evaluating, and advancing evidence-based policy solutions.
He currently serves as Account Manager at V+O Cyprus, part of SEC Newgate Group, where he provides strategic counsel on public affairs, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, and policy-related matters.
George is a member of the Mirror Committee on Governance of Organisations of the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), contributing to the development of international governance standards.
Previously, he served as Advisor to the Commissioner for the Citizen, providing strategic advice on citizen participation, civic engagement, and democratic innovation. He also served as Executive Director of Oxygen for Democracy, leading initiatives that promoted democratic governance, institutional resilience, and citizen participation, and worked as an independent Special Advisor at Zenox Public Affairs, providing strategic advice on public policy and governance.
He holds a BA in Classical Studies and Philosophy and an MA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cyprus. His work focuses on strengthening democratic institutions, improving public governance, fostering meaningful citizen participation in policymaking, and supporting effective engagement between organisations, policymakers, and society.
