Mihaela-Adriana Pădureanu is Coordinator of the Studies Unit at the European Institute of Romania and has extensive experience in academia, research, and civil society. She has worked as a researcher and research assistant on a range of national and international projects examining European foreign policy and the Eastern Partnership. From 2010 to 2016 she was a research fellow at the Center for East European and Asian Studies (CSEEA), National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), Romania, where she specialized in the European Unionʼs external relations and the Eastern Partnership. She has also taught as a lecturer and associate teaching assistant at SNSPA, the University of Bucharest, and Danubius International University.
Her civil society work includes membership of the Compliance Committee of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and the co-founding of Experts for Security and Global Affairs (ESGA), a Romanian think tank she served as vice-president (2017–2021). Among the research initiatives she has contributed to are: Violence and Morality in the Processes of Defining the Political Communities (2015–2017, moralityandviolence.net) and Eastern Partnership: Civilian Security Needs Assessment and Development Opportunities, implemented by CSEEA at SNSPA (eaprro.wordpress.com).
