Mirko Kruppa is temporarily serving as Head of the German Embassy in Nicosia.
Prior to that since July 2021 he was serving as Head of Division for Public Communication and Civic Dialogue at the German Foreign Office in Berlin.
Since the beginning of his career in 2001 he served in Almaty (Kazakhstan), Chengdu (China), Taipei (Taiwan) and Pretoria (South Africa).
He held positions at his Ministry covering Central Asia, Belarus, Ukraine (e.g. Ukraine-crisis 2014/2015) and regional issues such as Eurasian Integration and nation-building processes in CIS countries.
From September 2017 until September 2019, he was the Head of the Political Section at the EU Delegation in Moscow (Russia).
