Nektaria Stamouli is the Eastern Mediterranean correspondent for POLITICO Europe. Based in Athens, she is covering Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and the broader region. She is also the deputy editor in chief in Kathimerini English edition. Since 2021, she is the president of Greece’s Foreign Press Association.
She was previously the region's correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, covering the decades long Greek financial crisis, as well the Cypriot debt crisis and Europe’s migration crisis.
