Vassilis Tsakalos is the Vice President for Research and Technological Support at the Cyprus Institute, responsible for the portfolio of external funding and Research and Technology Infrastructures. He also coordinates DiGiNN, the European Digital Innovation Hub in Cyprus. Before joining the Institute in 2020, he served as the Director General of the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation from 2011. Previously, he was for 12 years the Head of PRAXI Network, a Research and Technology Transfer promotion agency in Greece under the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH). Vassilis is a graduate in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. He holds a DEA and PhD degree in Materials Engineering from École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris.
